September 18, 2007 - MMM Group Limited President & CEO Bruce Bodden is pleased to announce that MMM has concluded a transaction to acquire Toronto-based Seawood Solutions and Services Inc., an emerging leader in the delivery of commissioning and facility management solutions for building owners and managers.
"As part of our plan to enhance our commissioning services with RS&G Commissioning and improve our already strong market position within the healthcare industry, this acquisition is an important one," Bodden said, "creating one of the largest and most respected commissioning organizations in the GTA.
"With its SeawoodFM Software, Seawood Solutions has established not only a strong market position within the healthcare industry over the last 15 years, but also with schools, universities and colleges, municipalities, building owners and managers and airports in New Brunswick, PEI and Ontario," said Bodden. "Now, together with MMM the company can focus on expanding its operations into the strategic markets of Ontario and Western Canada."
Seawood President Peter Elton, P. Eng., has led the organization since 1994 and has over 35 years in the building industry. Elton's senior management team includes: James Persaud, P. Eng., Senior Vice-President and Manager, Commissioning and Building Operations division; Geoff Williams, BES, B. Arch, Manager, Software Division; and Garry Siskos, who recently joined the company to provide strategic sales and marketing support.
"MMM and Seawood have worked as a joint venture on GTAA projects over the past five years and will focus more strongly on this important sector," Bodden said.
