Throughout the existing facility, a number of renovations were done which include: incinerator replacement, elevator upgrade, C.T. scanner upgrade and new installation, radiology department upgrades, fire life safety upgrades, various renovations including bone marrow suite and an infectious autopsy suite, and the conversion of existing patient rooms to offices and/or clinical facilities.

Seawood was retained by Southlake Regional Health Centre (York County Hospital) to assist in securing all necessary planning approvals and permits to implement a major expansion and renovation program. This project management role involved coordination of the work of architects, engineers, transportation planners, and landscape architects, liaison with and education of municipal and agency staff and political representatives, and consultation with adjacent residents. The firm was retained by the hospital at a time of crisis in the planning process and successfully negotiated approval through a political and Ontario Municipal Board process.

The Upper River Valley Hospital is a new $55 M Greenfield LEED hospital to service the community of Woodstock, NB. This is a standalone facility with its own waste water treatment facility. This new state of the art hospital will greatly improve health care services to residents of the upper river valley area, through the enhancement of existing services and the addition of new services that were not previously available locally. This means that most essential health care services are now available within the upper river valley, and patients will no longer have to travel to larger centres such as Fredericton or Saint John for more specialized health service.

Seawood has been the Commissioning Authority for The Ottawa Hospital for over 10 years, and is involved in all of the Redevelopment projects at the Civic, General & Riverside Campuses.  Projects range from renovations of existing clinical units to major infrastructure upgrades to major construction projects including the new Critical Care Wing, Cancer Centre, Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratories, Heart Institute and Vertical Expansion.

Sudbury Regional Hospital’s redevelopment is currently in the second phase of construction with a $131.9 M project budget. This project will consolidate all hospital-based acute and rehabilitation services from three sites into one. Highlights of the project include: A new Emergency Department; 17 Operating Rooms; an expanded Intensive Care Unit; etc.
